Review: Green Hair Don't Care
Green Hair Don't Care by Bryan Lee O'Malley
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Okay, after I think two years, I finally managed to finished this one. I had a lot of false starts with title, and I think it was because I just kept losing interest. I wanted to like this title, but the story was too incoherent and the dialogue too clunky. This title wants to be edgy and weird, but I'm not sure it achieves either well. The art is great to look at, and if this was just a graphic novel with no dialogue, I think it'd be better because the aesthetic is just there. I didn't hate, which is why I didn't give it that dreaded 1 star, but I do wish the title was more than it was. The mental instability, voyeurism, and violent themes make for an interesting premise, but the actual execution is lacking.
